Come the third Sunday in June and it's time to celebrate every child’s first hero- Fathers! And what could be a better way to celebrate it at home with your father and some classic movies which celebrate fathers and fatherhood? Here are a few suggestions for your Father’s Day watch list.
The Pursuit of Happyness
This inspirational film stars real-life father and son, Will Smith and Jaden Smith. It tells the story of a struggling single dad who dreams of a better life for his boy. Despite facing homelessness, Will's character risks everything for an unpaid internship in a competitive stockbroker training program, which has the potential to change their lives.

Father Of The Bride
Every father-daughter duo needs to watch this heartwarming performance by Steve Martin, who stars as an overprotective dad with a hard time letting go of his little girl when she decides to get married.

Kramer vs Kramer
This classic is a story about Joanna Kramer, played by Meryl Streep, who walks out on marriage and motherhood and how Ted Kramer (Dustin Hoffman) and their son learn to be a family on their own. And a bond forms between them that could never be broken--except by a mother who returns two years later wanting her son back.

Mrs Doubtfire
One of late actor Robin Williams’ career best film, this classic is a hilarious but heartfelt tale is about a father who will go to any lengths to care for his children. He becomes a British nanny to stay close to them. The film was remade in Hindi as Chachi 420 starring Kamal Haasan.

The Lion King
This coming-of-age cartoon masterpiece will take you back to your childhood as you watch Simba honour the memory of his late father, King Mufasa, and fulfill his royal destiny.

Taken
This one is for all the adventure junkies in which Liam Neeson stars as a former spy who will stop at nothing to rescue his teenage daughter after she's kidnapped in Paris. Using his skills and fuelled by the love only a father could understand, he travels across the country to save his little girl's life—before it's too late.

The Judge
If you fear living up to your dad's legacy, then this film surely is right up your alley. The Judge follows shady lawyer Hank Palmer, played by Robert Downey Jr caught up in the trial of his judge father who is facing hit-and-run charges. The story is a perfect depiction of the difficulties of a father-son relationship.

Beautiful Boy
Filmmaker Felix Van Groeningen’s movie is heartbreaking and shows the descent of a family when their son falls into addiction. This film includes Timothee Chalamet as the main character, Nic Sheff, who struggles with addiction. This movie also includes Steve Carell, as his loving and supportive father, David Sheff, who was nothing but loving and supportive towards his son.
