Adani Airports Handle Over One Million Tonnes of Cargo to Achieve7% Growth





Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) achieved a significant milestone by handling 1,013,115 metric tonnes of air cargo in FY 2023-2024, capturing a 30.1% market share. This represents a 7% YOY (Year-on-Year) increase from the previous fiscal's 944,912 metric tonnes. International cargo operations dominated, accounting for 65% of the total with 662,258 metric tonnes, up 9% from 606,348 metric tonnes.
Key commodities included automobiles, pharmaceuticals, perishables, electricals/electronics, and engineering goods, managed across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangaluru, Guwahati, and Jaipur airports. Major international destinations were Germany, the Netherlands, the UAE, the UK, and the USA.
Mumbai airport recorded the highest volumes in March 2024, earning awards for ‘Cargo Airport of the Year’- Region India at Air Cargo India 2024 and ‘The Best Cargo Airport - Efficiency & Digitization’ at the ‘India Cargo Awards 2023’. New freight operators included Challenge Group, CMA CGM Air Cargo, Air Pace, Kenya Airways, Indigo, and Uganda Airlines. Mumbai’s SACT achieved full virtual account usage, enhancing digitisation. Ahmedabad handled Indigo’s first A320 neo freighter, while Lucknow reached a record 700 tonnes in March 2024.
