The Alumni Association of GAIMS' inaugural meet was a resounding success.

The Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences (GAIMS) proudly hosted its first alumni meet, organised by the Alumni Association of GAIMS (AAG), marking a pivotal moment in the institute’s journey. With the esteemed Dr Pankaj Doshi, Head of Healthcare Services at the Adani Group, in attendance, over 120 alumni and faculty united to celebrate their shared achievements. This gathering not only honored the institute's past successes but also ignited inspiring discussions on its bright future and commitment to excellence.

Held on campus, the gathering kicked off with an auspicious lamp lighting ceremony by dignitaries and a welcome address by AAG President Dr Richa Ainani Ahluwalia (MBBS, MS, DRM, FMAS), the first President of GAIMS Student Council of MBBS Batch 2009 and Gold Medallist is currently practicing as Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Infertility Specialist, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon based at Jaipur. She acknowledged GAIMS’ pivotal role in their professional growth.

From GAIMS Management, Director Medical Dr Balaji Pillai, Dean Dr A N Ghosh and Medical Superintendent Dr Narendra Hirani welcomed everyone at this important milestone and emphasised the importance of such gatherings in maintaining a vibrant, supportive community that continues to benefit both the institution and its graduates. Dr Pillai also appraised all about the recent developments in the hospital and college and advancement in the pipeline.

This alumni meet is not just a reunion; it is a celebration of the legacy we all share. Our journey may have taken us in different directions, but GAIMS remains the common ground that shaped who we are today.”

A series of keynote speeches followed, with distinguished alumni sharing their professional journeys and reflecting on the impact GAIMS had on their careers. Several alumni shared personal anecdotes, reflecting on how their medical education at GAIMS shaped their careers and personal lives. These stories fostered a deep sense of pride and camaraderie among the attendees, with many expressing gratitude for the institute’s role in their growth.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) called by Dr Ketav Daslania, Joint Secretary of the AAG was a key component of the day. During the AGM, initiatives such as regional alumni chapters and networking meets were proposed. The alumni expressed their commitment to giving back to their alma mater by supporting research projects and offering guidance to current students.

The meet concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Rushi Rabari (MBBS, MD, DM), a distinguished alumna, President of Junior Doctor’s Association of GAIMS of PG Batch 2017 and the first DM Pulmonologist of Gujarat who also expressed his emotional bonds with GAIMS.
