The picturesque Shantigram campus of Adani University set the stage for an unforgettable celebration of academic excellence and boundless potential on 5 Oct, 2024. It was a historic day as the university hosted its inaugural convocation ceremony, marking a milestone etched in the institution's legacy. Overflowing with emotion, accomplishment, and pride, the event saw 69 postgraduate students receiving their degrees, poised to embark on their journey as the pioneering ambassadors of Adani University.

The excitement was tangible as families, faculty, and distinguished guests gathered to witness this landmark event. Among the students, four individuals were recognised for their exceptional academic performance, receiving the prestigious Gold Medals: Jaivardhan Mittal and Mayank Mehta from the MBA (Infrastructure Management) program, Rutvik Bhatt from the MBA (Energy Management) program, and Harsh Pokar from the MTech in Construction Engineering and Management program. Their dedication and hard work stood as a testament to the excellence Adani University strives to foster.

The day’s proceedings were graced by Padma Shri Kartikeya Vikram Sarabhai, an eminent environmental educator and Founder of the Centre for Environment Education (CEE). In his stirring address, Mr Sarabhai shared words of wisdom, urging the graduates to reflect on the challenges awaiting them in a rapidly changing world.

Addressing the class of 2024 he said, “As you embark on this new chapter, it’s crucial to reflect on the challenges that await you and the skills you will need to navigate them effectively,” He spoke passionately about India’s evolving infrastructure landscape, where urbanisation brings both challenges and opportunities.

Mr Sarabhai emphasised the need for inclusivity and collaboration in leadership roles, advising the future leaders to work with communities and stakeholders. He also addressed the ongoing technological disruptions, encouraging the graduates to use technology as a tool for empowerment rather than exclusion.

“The future lies in sustainable practices and inclusive designs that uplift all segments of society,” he concluded, leaving the audience with a powerful message of responsibility and hope.

The world needs more thinkers, innovators, and doers – and that’s exactly what Adani University is committed to nurturing,” Dr Adani said passionately. She also highlighted the transformative role of education in shaping India’s future, emphasising the university’s alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.

Profsessor Ravi P Singh, the Provost of Adani University shared a detailed account of the university’s achievements during the 2023-24 academic year, underscoring its growing influence in higher education.

“Our partnership with professionals from the Adani Group has enriched the learning experience by bringing real-world insights directly into the classroom,” he said. Students, he noted, had gained hands-on experience through site visits and capstone projects, equipping them with practical knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in their chosen fields.

The event was attended by members of the Governing Body, Board of Management, Academic Council, Board of Studies, and a host of distinguished guests from the corporate world, along with the proud parents of the graduating students.
