Boots on Ground: Strengthening Safety Through Leadership and Technology

Boots on Ground (BOG) is a cutting-edge application designed specifically for the sites to ensure leadership’s engagement on the shop floor. It is a user-friendly interface, and advanced functionalities streamline the way the site team manages engagement with workmen and ensures all areas are monitored, thus enhancing safety and ensuring a culture of zero harm.

How BOG Works?

Each plant is divided into zones and is tagged with a unique QR code. Personnel can scan this code to record their observations and submit their reports. This process not only simplifies and enhances reporting culture of the sites but also provides valuable insights through detailed monthly performance reports. The tool is being positioned as a leadership differentiator, where the focus is on FiFi (Find it, Fix it) and each action taken is rewarded through the gamified tool. The tool is further being enhanced to also track PTW (Permit to Work) and enable leaders to make meaningful impact while their Boots are on the Ground.

A Safety Hero is an employee who:

• Consistently follows and upholds safety regulations.
• Positively influences peers to adopt safe practices.
• Actively intervenes to correct unsafe behaviours.

Recognition and Rewards

To honour the dedication of these individuals, the Safety Hero Award has been established. Each month, employees who exemplify these traits will receive a gift worth INR 5,000, acknowledging their pivotal role in maintaining a safe workplace.
