August 11 is a milestone date for the 800+ members of the Adani Foundation Parivar. It marks 29 years since the Foundation, under the visionary leadership of Dr Priti G Adani, began its journey to create lasting change in the lives of underserved communities. For each one of us at the Foundation, every effort, every initiative is a call to action; an opportunity to serve. Driven by a profound commitment to bring about a meaningful change at the grassroots, the Foundation remains dedicated to serving the underserved and bring about a transformation that is both inclusive and sustainable.

For nearly three decades, the Adani Foundation has remained committed to empowering every individual and co-creating solutions that lay the foundation of a thriving society. Through its holistic interventions in the areas of Education, Health & Nutrition, Sustainable Livelihoods, Climate Action, and Community Development, the Foundation is serving communities and enabling them to enhance their socio-economic well-being. Our work over the years has been both - a testament to this commitment and an inspiration for tomorrow. Collectively, we have built hope, enriched lives, and opened doors of empowerment.

Education

At the core of the Foundation’s interventions is a steadfast commitment to empower every child - irrespective of his/ her socio-economic background – with value-based, holistic education. Firmly believing that education is the cornerstone of change, especially in rural India where opportunities are often limited, the Foundation has dedicated itself to redefining excellence in education for thousands of students. Several of these children are first-generation learners and come from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Our efforts go beyond just providing textbook-based knowledge – we integrate critical thinking and basic human virtues, thus enabling their holistic growth and development. Through its network of 42 Adani Schools and dedicated programs like Utthan (aimed at enhancing learning outcomes of students in government schools) and Udaan (providing experiential learning experience), the Foundation is reimagining the futures of thousands of children, inspiring them to dream, achieve, and shine.

Health & Nutrition

The Adani Foundation envisions a healthier future for communities, wherein no one is devoid of essential healthcare. We are committed to providing timely medical services to people living in the remotest of regions through our fleet of 28 Mobile Healthcare Units and rural health camps. Our hospitals, wellness centres, and rural clinics have been serving the underserved, thereby making healthcare both affordable and accessible. Our SuPoshan program is especially dedicated to addressing Malnutrition among children and enhancing the overall health of young girls and women. The program has so far transitioned more than 90,000 children from severe malnourished category to healthy category. Through another key intervention called Vision Care, more than 1, 17, 000 community members are today enjoying enhanced vision.

Sustainable Livelihoods

The Foundation is dedicated to creating an ecosystem of growth for community members. By promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities, the Foundation is not just unlocking potential for growth but enabling communities to enhance their income levels. It has empowered thousands of farmers to increase their farm output and diversify their incomes by promoting sustainable agricultural practices among them. At the same time, the Foundation continues to advocate for women’s empowerment at every stage of their lives. By supporting and facilitating their self-help groups (SHGs), skill training, and creating small-scale enterprises to promote cash-intensive activities, the Foundation is enabling women achieve self-reliance, thus enhancing their socio-economic well-being. So far, the Adani Foundation has exponentially empowered over 2 million girls and women through its targeted interventions.

Lives of over 1.85 lakh youths have been positively transformed, thanks to Adani SAKSHAM – the skilling arm of the Adani Foundation. Driven by innovation, SAKSHAM aims to provide skill-based training to youths across an array of job sectors, thereby making them job-ready and fulfilling their creative and entrepreneurial aspirations.

Through Project Sathwaro, the Foundation is enabling the creation of a diverse, supportive and thriving ecosystem where the artisan community of India, especially those practicing languishing art forms, is celebrated and empowered to actively contribute to nation-building.

Climate Action

For the Adani Foundation, sustainability lies at the core of each intervention. This commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship is reflected in the Foundation’s initiatives to achieve climate resilience. Whether it’s the Foundation’s water conservation efforts, which have so far resulted in the creation of an additional water storage capacity of 15.6 billion litres, or its mass afforestation initiative, ‘Harit Paryavaan Ki Ek Pahal’, the Foundation has dedicated itself to building a cleaner, greener tomorrow. With nearly 2 million saplings planted so far, the Foundation is inching closer to the Adani Group’s commitment to plant 100 million trees by 2030. Enhancing green cover directly translates into building resilient and thriving communities, enriching local biodiversity and providing livelihood opportunities. Another key intervention is the ‘Surya Ki Urja Se Sawarta Bharat’, which aims to popularise solar electrification in rural India. In FY 2024-25, the Foundation installed solar panels in 847 rural households, 311 government schools and 17 community infrastructures, directly benefitting more than 55, 000 community members, who now have access to enhanced lighting and reduced electricity bills. Such moves are not just addressing current climatic challenges but contributing to a more sustainable future for everyone.

Community Development

The Adani Foundation is bolstering the overall growth and development of communities and is proactively working to enhance their quality of life. When communities are empowered with the right resources and opportunities for growth, they contribute meaningfully to nation-building. The Foundation is promoting this well-being through construction of critical infrastructure, nurturing budding sportspersons at the grassroots level, increasing access to government schemes and providing essential support to specially-abled individuals. With community welfare at its core, the Foundation is dedicated to weaving a legacy of transformation that leaves no one behind.

Over its nearly three-decade journey, the Adani Foundation has surely come a long way, reaching more than 9.6 million people across 7, 060 villages of India. But this is just the beginning, it is the start of something even more inspiring. As we confidently step into our 30th year, the Foundation is poised to usher in meaningful change through its holistic efforts. The years ahead await us with renewed hope and fresh opportunities, as we strengthen our resolve to positively touch more lives.
