Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences (GAIMS), Bhuj, proudly earned two prestigious honours at the ET Healthcare Awards 2025, marking a moment of great pride for the institution.
The two honours recognised GAIMS for Excellence in Clinical Services (ENT – West Region, India) and celebrated Dr Narendra Hirani, Medical Superintendent & Professor of ENT at GAIMS and Faculty Dean – Medicine at KSKV Kachchh University, as Otolaryngologist (ENT Surgeon) of the Year (West Region, India).
These recognitions stand as a testament to our collective commitment under the Dynamic Leadership of Medical Director Dr Balaji Pillai, in delivering world-class healthcare in one of the most underserved regions of India.
GAIMS Stood Apart:
- GAIMS stands as a beacon of Public-Private Partnership excellence, offering world-class ENT services to the remotest and underprivileged populations of Kutch – Nation’s Largest District. With cutting-edge technologies, skilled workforce, free-of-cost surgeries under government schemes and a transparent quality monitoring system, our ENT department exemplifies equitable, ethical, and exceptional care impacting lives of More than 50,000 families every year. Moreover, more than 5500 underprivileged families get benefited every year with free of cost surgeries.
-
It was almost impossible for most people coming from meagre economic conditions and distant rural areas of the Nation’s largest district, geographically scattered at the National Border. On non-availability of even basic amenities and any Super Specialist Doctor, GAIMS came to the rescue of these deprived patients and in addition to basic ENT surgeries. In addition to Microscopic Ear Surgery, Thyroid Surgery and Septorhinoplasty, GAIMS introduced advanced surgeries like Head & Neck Onco-Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Fascio Maxillary Surgery, Endoscopic Skull based Surgery to the region that too free of cost under various government schemes. What sets GAIMS apart is not just technical sophistication but our human commitment — to restore voices, sounds and breath to those who believed they couldn’t afford it. This award would recognise a model where clinical brilliance meets compassionate outreach.
- In addition to being an ENT Specialist, Dr Narendra Hirani is a pioneer in healthcare delivery in the underserved western region of Gujarat. His work at GAIMS has brought hope, voice and hearing to thousands who could never afford care in bigger cities. He has been with GAIMS since its inception. Dr. Narendra Hirani’s leadership, spanning over two decades, has been instrumental in shaping the ENT Department into a regional hub of excellence, backed by his clinical expertise, academic contributions and humanitarian service during disasters like the 2001 Earthquake, Cyclones, H1N1 outbreak and COVID-19.
These awards reflect not only clinical excellence but also a deep social commitment. Through government health schemes and patient-centric initiatives, GAIMS has ensured that healthcare is not a privilege, but a right—accessible to every individual, regardless of background.
While the honors recognise the ENT Department and Dr Hirani,
they also stand as a tribute to the entire GAIMS family—doctors, nurses, technicians and
support staff—whose dedication has made these milestones possible. As we celebrate this
recognition, GAIMS reaffirms its mission: to bring quality healthcare closer to people,
combining technology, compassion and innovation in every step of the journey.
