Adani Wind, the wind energy arm of Adani New Industries Ltd (ANIL), is harnessing strong sectoral tailwinds with fresh domestic orders of over 300 MW and its first international export—blade sets featuring anti-icing technology shipped to Europe.

Riding India’s Wind Wave

India’s wind capacity has surged from 21 GW in 2014 to 51.3 GW by Jun 2025, with over 4 GW added in FY25 alone. Ranked fourth globally, the country is targeting 140 GW wind and 500 GW non-fossil capacity by 2030. Aligned with this momentum, Adani Wind has built a 304 MW external order book across Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, while also working toward 2.5 GW deliveries for group company Adani Green Energy (AGEL) by FY26.

Exports Take Flight

Beyond India, Adani Wind is eyeing new horizons. Exports to Europe mark the company’s entry into advanced markets, with talks underway with German IPPs for repowering projects. Design adaptations for the US market (60 Hz) are ready, with pilot deliveries expected this fiscal. Australia, Brazil, the Philippines and Vietnam are also on the radar.

Innovation Pipeline

Adani Wind is set to launch a 5.0 MW turbine with a 185m rotor diameter for low-wind sites, complementing its 5.2 MW flagship—India’s largest—which has already crossed 1 GW of installations at Khavda, part of the world’s biggest renewable project. Four models are already listed in MNRE’s RLMM, strengthening its OEM credentials.

Technology & Scale

With engineering hubs in Rostock, Germany and India, the company is pushing advances in blades, gearboxes and recyclable materials. Manufacturing capacity at Mundra stands at 2.25 GW annually, with plans to scale to 5 GW. Investments of over INR 2,000–3,000 crore are fueling automation, robotics and R&D.

Milind Kulkarni, CEO, Adani Wind, said, “As global economies accelerate the energy transition, Adani Wind stands at the forefront, harnessing the untapped potential of wind power to drive sustainable growth. Our commitment to making in India, for both the domestic and international markets, remains steadfast. This is reflected in our expanding manufacturing footprint, diversified product portfolio, research and development efforts, and technological innovation. With each wind turbine we produce, we reaffirm our pledge to empower communities, create jobs, and contribute to building a greener and self-reliant India for future generations.”

With India’s peak power demand projected to hit 388 GW by FY32, wind energy will remain a cornerstone of the transition. Adani Wind is aiming for a Top 3 spot in India within two years—and a Top 10 global position within five.
