Three Decades Of Impact

Four women, two wearing glasses, are gathered indoors, with two in the foreground exchanging an item.

Some journeys are measured in milestones. Others are measured in lives transformed.

This August, a-connect celebrates a remarkable milestone: 30 years of the Adani Foundation. What began in 1996 as a deeply personal commitment to community service has evolved into one of India’s most expansive social impact institutions, touching millions of lives across education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods and community development. This edition is dedicated to that extraordinary journey and, more importantly, to the people who have shaped it.

Our cover story traces the Foundation’s three-decade evolution—from its early initiatives to its growing presence across the country. It is a story of quiet persistence, partnerships built on trust, and an enduring belief that development must create opportunity with dignity.

Across the edition, we explore the many dimensions of that impact. In Bihar’s Bhagalpur district, women are transforming the prized GI-tagged Jardalu mango into a pathway to financial independence and global markets. In Dhamra, we revisit a region where sustained healthcare interventions have changed not only access to medical care but also the confidence of entire communities. These stories remind us that meaningful change is rarely dramatic; it is built through years of consistent engagement.

We also bring you a compelling conversation with Major Mohit Shaktawat, whose journey from serving the nation in uniform to protecting critical national infrastructure reflects a broader theme of this edition: service beyond self. His story sits alongside other narratives of leadership, resilience and purpose that define the Adani Parivar.

As India approaches its 80th Independence Day, this edition is also a reflection on nation-building. The Foundation’s work over the past 30 years demonstrates that lasting progress is created not only through infrastructure and enterprise, but through investment in people.

We hope these stories inspire pride, perspective and a renewed appreciation of what sustained commitment can achieve.
