Chairman Gautam Adani, at the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Vishakha Group on 17 Jan 2026, offered a deeply reflective address that transcended the usual corporate milestone. Speaking to employees, partners and the founding Doshi family, he presented Vishakha’s story as one defined not merely by industrial achievement, but by integrity, trust and shared purpose. “This is a story not of contracts, but of conviction, of responsibility and of doing the right thing,” he said, setting the tone for a celebration that was as much about values as about growth.
A Partnership Born from Crisis
Mr Adani traced the origins of the Vishakha-Adani relationship to 1992, during the turbulence that followed the Gulf War. Supply chains had collapsed, the rupee had sharply devalued and India’s polymer-dependent manufacturing sector was on the verge of paralysis. Adani Exports—today Adani Enterprises—was forced to cut polymer supplies to distributors by nearly half.
“In moments of scarcity,” he reflected, “many see opportunity. But Jigish Doshi saw responsibility.” Instead of negotiating for preferential allocation, Doshi approached Mr Adani with a group of small customers to explain the human and industrial impact of the shortage. Moved by his integrity, Mr Adani supplied directly to Mr Doshi, extending credit and bypassing intermediary layers. “That moment,” he said, “was the birth of a friendship built on trust, fairness and principles.”
From One Line to a Diversified Enterprise
The partnership strengthened in 2001, when Mr Adani invited Mr Doshi to join him in establishing a polymer film packaging line. There were no drawn-out negotiations; only a simple, resolute declaration: “This has to be done together by the two of us.” From this collaboration emerged the Vishakha Group, a diversified industrial enterprise that today spans polymer fabrication, molding, irrigation and piping, renewables, solar films, metals and manufacturing glass.
The Chairman emphasised that Vishakha’s growth was never driven by transactional strategy alone. “It has been propelled by shared values, a collective conscience and a commitment to doing what is right,” he said.
Industrial Excellence that Sets National Benchmarks
Chairman Adani highlighted Vishakha’s industrial feats as emblematic of India’s manufacturing potential. The Group’s solar glass facility, commissioned in just 24 months, became India’s largest, with a capacity of 660 tonnes per day, matching global standards. Even more ambitious is Phase 2, currently underway, which will nearly double capacity to 1,260 tonnes per day, making it the largest solar glass furnace ever constructed in India. Mr Adani described the 20-month target timeline as “a speed that redefines Indian manufacturing.”
Alongside the glass facility, Vishakha has established one of India’s most advanced integrated aluminium complexes, anchored by the country’s largest fully automated anodizing line. Yet, he noted, the Group’s real strength lies in its integrated 12-GW solar ecosystem, where glass, aluminium, films and advanced materials converge seamlessly—a coordinated industrial symphony designed to serve India’s renewable future.
A Legacy of Values and Integrity
Beyond industrial scale, Vishakha’s enduring success is rooted in the Doshi family’s values. Chairman lauded their culture of service, unity and ethical leadership, noting that Mr Doshi’s personal principles, shaped by a family deeply engaged in social and spiritual work, have permeated Vishakha’s organisational ethos.
Addressing the next generation—Akshat, Pranav, Karan, Sagar and Jeet—the Chairman offered a solemn admonition: “Your challenge will not be to grow the balance sheet, but to protect the integrity that built it.”
An Unfinished Journey
Closing on a deeply personal note, Chairman Adani reflected on a journey defined by courage, trust and shared ambition. Speaking in Gujarati, he said, “Though Vishakha has grown many branches, the heart that connects us has always remained one.”
He concluded with a promise that “the picture is still incomplete,” signaling that the Vishakha-Adani partnership is poised for even greater achievements in India’s renewable energy and advanced materials sectors. In an era often defined by speed and scale, Mr Adani’s reflections served as a powerful reminder that enduring industrial legacies are built not merely on capital, but on character, conscience and collaboration.
The journey of Vishakha and the Adani Group is a testament to the power of trust, integrity and shared purpose. It shows that true success is built not just on growth and innovation, but on values, collaboration and a commitment to doing what is right. Their story is still unfolding, with a future full of promise and possibilities.
