On Adani Day on 24 June 2026, our Chairman Gautam Adani reflected on the Group's strongest year yet, while sharing his vision for India's future and the next generation of builders.

Every Adani Day is a time to celebrate achievements, recognise the people behind them and look ahead with renewed purpose.

Addressing the Adani Parivar on 24 June 2026, our Chairman Gautam Adani did all three. He spoke about a year of record financial performance, reaffirmed the Group's long-term commitment to India and laid out his vision for nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders.

Giving Back

Before turning to business, Mr Adani began with what he called the most meaningful part of the day.

“Before we move to the business of the day, I want to begin with the most meaningful birthday gift I receive every year from the Adani Parivar.”

He was referring to the Group's nationwide annual blood donation drive, which has become a defining feature of Adani Day.

This year, Adanians set another record.

“Earlier today, through our blood donation camps, we crossed another all-time high, with over 45,000 units of blood donated by our people.”

Blood donation camps were organised across India and, for the first time, at four international locations. Calling the achievement both staggering and humbling, Mr Adani said it reflected the generosity and spirit of service that continue to define the Adani Parivar.

Record Year

The celebrations came on the heels of another milestone.

Earlier in the morning, while addressing shareholders at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Mr Adani described financial year (FY) 2026 as the strongest in the Group's history.

“I am proud to say that the results we delivered are the strongest in the history of our Group.”

The year saw stronger integration across businesses, resilient balance sheets and record financial performance. It also marked the beginning of the Group's next investment cycle.

“Over the next five years, we have committed to investing over a hundred billion dollars of capex. That is more than what we have cumulatively invested throughout our Group's history.”

The planned investment of more than USD 100 billion is the largest capital expenditure programme undertaken by the Group and reflects its confidence in India's long-term growth prospects.

Even with this scale of investment, Mr Adani said financial discipline remained a priority.

“Our net debt to EBITDA [Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation] ratio at 3.3x remained among the strongest in our history, giving us significant headroom for future capex-led growth.”

The net debt-to-EBITDA ratio is a widely used measure of financial leverage. A lower ratio indicates a company's ability to comfortably service its debt while retaining the capacity to invest in future growth.

Mr Adani also highlighted another measure of the Group's contribution to the economy.

More than 30% of India's total new private-sector capital expenditure over the past year came from the Adani Group.

For him, however, the numbers told only part of the story.

“I state these numbers not just as a celebration of balance sheets, but as a tribute to each one of you.”

He credited the year's performance to the efforts of employees across the organisation.

“Because this growth did not come from capital alone. It came from conviction. It came from discipline. It came from countless early mornings, late nights, difficult choices and quiet sacrifices made by Adanians across every part of this Group.”

Mr Adani then spoke about the idea that has guided the Group since its earliest days. While the morning had begun with milestones and financial performance, his focus steadily shifted to the ideas that continue to shape the Group's decisions and its plans for the years ahead.

India First

From the Group's performance, the Chairman turned to the idea that has shaped its decisions over the past four decades.

“If there is one belief that unites all of us, it is our belief in India.”

“India is not just a market for us. India is the purpose that drives us.”

The Group's growth, he said, has come from identifying opportunities that others often overlooked.

“We built ports when others would see only a coastline.”

“We built power when others would see only darkness.”

"We built transmission lines when others would see only distance."

“We built airports when others would see only congestion.”

“We did not just build infrastructure. We built belief into steel, into concrete, into power lines, into runways.”

Those examples reflected the approach that has guided the Group's expansion across sectors: investing early, building at scale and planning for the long term.

Next Frontier

While ports, power, transmission and airports remain at the heart of the Group's portfolio, Mr Adani said the next phase of growth would be driven by technologies and industries that are reshaping the global economy.

“The next Adani will not be built only through ports, power, airports and energy.”

“The next chapter will be written in electrons, data, digital platforms, defence, advanced manufacturing, AI infrastructure and industrial ecosystems.”

The Chairman said these sectors will define India's next phase of industrial growth, creating new opportunities for manufacturing, technology and innovation.

He also challenged employees to think beyond adapting to change.

“The question is not whether the world will change around us. It already has.”

“The question is whether we will be the ones who shape what comes next.”

For the Group, he said, that means continuing to invest in businesses that will help build India's industrial and digital capabilities for decades to come.

Building Leaders

Looking beyond the Group's business priorities, Mr Adani spoke about a different responsibility: ensuring that the organisation continues to thrive long after its present generation of leaders.

He said institutions are defined not only by the businesses they create, but also by their ability to nurture leadership across generations.

“The Adani Group must become far more than the story of a few leaders. It must become an institution that can carry its fire from one generation to the next.”

For our Chairman, succession is not simply about identifying future leaders. It is about creating an environment where young people are encouraged to think independently, take responsibility and pursue ambitious ideas.

“Our next responsibility is not only to build bigger businesses. It is to find a new set of bigger builders.”

He then reflected on his own beginnings, recalling that he started his entrepreneurial journey without capital or established connections.

“I have always believed that if a boy from Ahmedabad with no capital and no connections could build what stands here today, then there must be a thousand more Gautam Adanis sitting undiscovered right now, in a lab, in a classroom, in a workshop or in a village, simply waiting for someone to notice them.”

Vande Bharatam

That thought led to one of the day's most significant announcements.

Mr Adani unveiled Vande Bharatam, a national initiative to identify, recognise and support promising innovators from across the country. The programme will seek out promising ideas wherever they emerge, from campuses and laboratories to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), villages and industrial clusters.Inviting every Adanian to become part of the initiative, he said:

“I seek your support for this program as it becomes a national movement to discover, recognise and elevate India's innovators at a scale never attempted before.”

The initiative will focus on practical solutions with the potential to create meaningful impact.

“Real ideas. Real problems.”

“Across campuses, start-ups, MSMEs, laboratories, villages and industrial clusters.”

Mr Adani described Vande Bharatam as an effort to create opportunities for the country's next generation of innovators by connecting promising ideas with the support they need to grow.

He closed this part of his address with an assurance that summed up the initiative's purpose.

“If you have the courage to build, the Adani Group has the courage to stand with you.”

Lasting Legacy

As the address drew to a close, Mr Adani returned to a memory from nearly three decades ago, when the Adani Group's transformation of Mundra from a quiet coastline into one of India's most important ports and industrial ecosystems had only just begun.

Standing by the sea, he recalled watching the waves return day after day, never missing their rhythm, never expecting recognition.

“Standing by the sea at Mundra, I would watch the waves return again and again... No one applauds the sea for coming back every day.”

"No one reminds the sun to rise each morning or to set each evening."

"They simply keep their appointment with destiny."

He drew a parallel with the people who build businesses, communities and nations.

“They show up when no one is watching.”

“They believe when no one is clapping.”

“They build when no one yet understands.”

“And with patience, courage and faith, they turn empty coastlines into gateways, silence into movement and dreams into institutions.”

Before concluding, Mr Adani shared a personal wish with every member of the Adani Parivar.

“May this Adani Parivar always choose the harder road over the easier one.”

Our Chairman hoped that somewhere within the organisation, or elsewhere in the country, another young builder would find the confidence to pursue an idea others considered impossible.

“When the world doubts him, I hope he remembers that an ordinary young man from Gujarat once stood on the coastlines of Mundra with nothing but a belief and built a Group that refused to stop.”

The address ended with a reflection on the lesson that has guided his own life.

“That belief, my dear colleagues, was all I had when I started. And in the end, it was enough, because everything else, we learned and we built along the way.”
