Khavda Renewable Energy Park, a place that has helped put India on the global renewable energy map now has a distinct place on India’s postal map.

Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Kutch gets a dedicated PIN code, 370246, and its own India Post delivery office, giving one of the world’s largest clean energy hubs a formal address of its own.

The development gives the rapidly expanding renewable energy hub a dedicated postal identity and marks another milestone in its transformation from a remote, sparsely inhabited landscape into a major centre of clean energy and economic activity.

Developed by Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), along with other developers, the project has emerged as one of the most significant renewable energy destinations in the world. Its new postal identity reflects the infrastructure and communities that have grown alongside the massive energy project.

More Than a Six-Digit Number

A PIN code may appear to be a simple six-digit identifier, but in today's increasingly digital economy, it can serve as a gateway to a much wider ecosystem of services.

E-commerce deliveries, logistics, banking, insurance and digital address verification often depend on location and serviceability. For Khavda, the allocation of 370246 establishes a distinct location within India's postal network and enables easier access to postal, financial and digital services for the growing workforce, businesses and support ecosystem around the project.

India Post has operationalised the Renewable Energy Park, Khavda Post Office, creating a dedicated delivery point for the renewable energy park and township. Until recently, postal services in the region were routed through the Khavda Post Office and Kuran Branch Post Office.

The new arrangement brings postal infrastructure closer to a community whose scale and requirements have expanded rapidly with the development of the renewable energy park.

Bringing Digital Services

The new post office will be more than mail delivery. It will provide Speed Post, parcel booking and delivery, Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) products and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) services, including Aadhaar-enabled digital banking and financial inclusion initiatives.

For the thousands of people living and working at Khavda, these services bring an important layer of everyday connectivity to a geographically remote project site. For businesses, they add a formal postal and logistics interface to an ecosystem that increasingly depends on the seamless movement of people, documents, parcels, goods and digital transactions.

It represents both a physical and digital connection: a formal address for a project increasingly integrated with India's wider economic infrastructure.

Building More Than a Power Project

The scale of Khavda extends well beyond its generation capacity. AGEL is developing the renewable energy project across approximately 538 square kilometres, an area nearly five times the size of Paris and almost as large as Mumbai city. More than 10 GW of renewable energy capacity has already been operationalised, while the project is expected to reach 30 GW by 2029.

Supporting this undertaking has required building an extensive ecosystem in what was once barren terrain. Roads, drainage networks, desalination plants, fibre connectivity and housing for more than 15,000 workers now support the growing community, alongside healthcare, retail, recreation and banking facilities.

The dedicated post office adds another essential civic service, marking the transformation of a remote landscape into an established settlement.
